The following is information note-worthy to our
residents
In August, we were honored to share the 100th birthday of
long-time resident, Kell Smith! You may have noticed the
balloon bouquets at his home during the week, and then the
bouquet at the Park entrance on his actual day of
celebration!
Kell has lived at Crestview for 42 years, coming here with
his wife Lula, from his native Jackson, Ohio area. Kell was
a Flight Engineer for the Army Air Corp, flying B-17 Bombers
during WWII and brought those skills home to Jackson County
and flew in association with his work there at Globe and
JISCO Furnaces and for his own personal pleasure. Even in
these later years, and because of this love of flight, his
family has often seen that he gets airborne around his
birthday time.
Kell was a faithful walker around the Park until just a few
years ago. Many know him by his engaging and jolly sense of
humor, enjoyed as he stopped to relate to fellow residents
on his daily rounds. His daughters relate now that he still
finds a way to make others laugh and to have a good time!
It has been a privilege to have a small part in Kell's
celebration!! Happy 100th Birthday, Mr. Kell! Wishing many
blessings on you and yours!!
